
Ranji Trophy legend Amol Mazumdar appointed Mumbai coach, replaces Ramesh Powar

Amol Mazumdar, a Ranji Trophy legend, was appointed as the head coach of Mumbai senior team for the upcoming domestic team. He piped the likes of Wasim Jaffer, Sairaj Bahutule and Balwinder Singh Sandhu for the role.
Domestic great and former Mumbai captain Amol Mazumdar was on Tuesday appointed as the head coach of the Mumbai senior team for the upcoming domestic season. He replaces Ramesh Powar who has taken over as the head coach of the women's cricket team. As many as 9 candidates, including former India opener Wasim Jaffer, had applied for Mumbai head coach role. The decision to appoint Amol Mazumdar was taken by the Cricket Improvement Committee of the MCA comprising Jatin Paranjape (chairman), Nilesh Kulkarni and Vinod Kambli. The CIC zeroed in on the 46-year-old after interviewing eight other candidates, which included Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Jaffer, Sairaj Bahutule, Sulakshan Kulkarni, Pradeep Sunderram, Nandan Phadnis, Umesh Patwal and Vinod Raghvan.More Related News
