Ranchi court gives green signal to JugJugg Jeeyo, dismisses petition to stay release

Ranchi court has dismissed the petition filed by a writer who accused Karan Johar of copying his script titled Bunny Rani for JugJugg Jeeyo. The film will now release on June 24.
Karan Johar’s upcoming film, JugJugg Jeeyo, will now release as per its schedule, on June 24. The film had recently landed in controversy after a writer named Vishal A Singh claimed that Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions copied his script titled Bunny Rani for JugJugg Jeeyo. However, the Ranchi court has refused to stay the release of the film.
Ranchi Commercial Court dismissed the petition seeking a stay on the release of Karan Johar's Jugjugg Jeeyo. Now, on June 24, Karan Johar's film will hit cinemas, as the makers had announced. The film was sued for copyright infringement by Ranchi-based writer Vishal Singh. He filed a petition for theft of script and requested the court to stay the release. Vishal Singh had filed a complaint against filmmaker Karan Johar and Dharma Productions.
Earlier, taking to Twitter, Vishal shared screenshots, stating that he had mailed extracts of his script to the production house. And wrote that the film was made without his knowledge.
Directed by Raj Mehta, JugJugg Jeeyo is slated to release in theatres on June 24. The film stars Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Kiara Advani and Neetu Kapoor.The trailer of the Raj Mehta directorial is packed with love, romance, and a big family reunion. By the looks of the trailer, it seems the film deals with the complexities of relationships. However, the makers seem to have more in store for us.
