Rana couple in isolation after coming in contact with Covid positive person

Independent MP Navneet Rana and her MLA husband Ravi Rana failed to appear before a Mumbai court as they had isolated themselves after coming in contact with a Covid positive person.
Independent MP Navneet Rana and her MLA husband Ravi Rana could not appear in front of the Borivali Magistrate's court on Thursday as they had isolated themselves after coming in contact with a Covid positive person.Earlier this month, Mumbai Police had filed a chargesheet against the Ranas for allegedly resisting arrest and obstructing police after their announcement that they would chant the Hanuman Chalisa at Matoshree, the residence of Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray.The charges slapped against the couple are section 353 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for obstructing police on duty read with Section 34 (common intention).
On Thursday, Magistrate RG Bagade directed, "the advocate for the accused is directed to keep presence of the accused on next date, June 28, when the case is to be kept for committal.”
The Rana couple had appeared before the Mumbai sessions court on Wednesday.
