Rampur Assembly Election results 2022 (Rampur Vidhan Sabha Natija): Will Azam Khan retain his hot seat?

Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections Results 2022: The senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader has won elections from the Rampur assembly seat nine times since 1980.

UP Assembly Election results 2022: Rampur city, which falls under the Rampur district, is one of the Muslim-dominated seats of Uttar Pradesh. While the assembly election 2022 results for the Rampur Vidhan sabha seat are currently awaited, all eyes are on senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan. 

SP's Azam Khan is one of the key candidates contesting from the Rampur seat. Khan, who is currently lodged in Sitapur jail in connection with a number of cases registered against him, has won elections from the Rampur assembly constituency nine times since 1980. 

Against Azam Khan, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Akash Saxena and the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has pitted Sadaqat Hussain.

Congress has given a ticket to Kazim Ali Khan. Kazim's parents have won the Rampur Lok Sabha seat seven times as Congress candidates. While his mother Begum Noor Bano has won the seat twice in the 1990s, his father Syed Zulfikar Ali Khan has taken the Rampur Lok Sabha seat five times between the 1960s and 1980s. Kazim, however, is directly challenging Azam Khan for the first time.

As per the latest trends, Azam Khan is currently leading on his stronghold Rampur seat.
