In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Rajpal Yadav spoke about the initial days of his career. The actor recalled getting rejected by casting agencies.
Actor Rajpal Yadav has been acting in Bollywood films for more than two decades now. He has done a wide variety of roles in films and is known for his good comic timing. However, things weren't easy for Rajpal when he came to Mumbai to take up acting as a career. The actor faced several rejections at the beginning of his career. In an interview with IndiaToday.in, Rajpal Yadav recalled how people would reject him despite promising him work.
Recalling the initial days of his career, Rajpal revealed he would go to different casting agencies with his photographs for acting jobs.
"There is a strong social media presence today. There was no Facebook or WhatsApp during the early 2000s. We would take our photographs and go from office to office. When I came to Mumbai, main roj kaam pa raha tha. But after 1 and a half months, a friend of mine came and I told him that till now I hadn't received a call from any office (casting agency) for work. Later, after 1 month, I realised kisi office mein kaam ke liye mana nahi karte. No one tells you that we won't give you work right after seeing your photographs. Everyone would say we would take you and I would feel that I have been cast for the role," said Rajpal Yadav.
The actor further mentioned that he got confused about a few things within the first months of his stay in Mumbai. "But I got to know later that photo chodne se if someone tells you that you have got work, that means kaam nahi milta hain. Jab bulava aajaye tabhi milta hain. Mere do-chaar mahine galat fehmi mein nikal gaye ki bohot kaam hai apne paas. Lekin udhar se koi bulava nahi aaya." (Only when they call you, you get a role in the film. I misunderstood a lot of things and thought that I had so much work in my hand. But I didn't get an answer from anywhere.)
Meanwhile, Rajpal Yadav is riding high on the success of his film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. He played the role of Chota Pandit in the Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer. Next, Rajpal will be seen in Ardh with Rubina Dilaik and Hiten Tejwani. The film is scheduled to release on June 10, 2022 on ZEE5.
