A 28-year-old woman was arrested on Thursday for killing her husband by slitting his throat in a village in Nagar police station area of Bharatpur.
Two days after a man was found murdered in a village in the Nagar police station area of Bharatpur, police on Thursday arrested his wife who confessed to her crime.
According to a report published in The Times of India (TOI), the deceased, identified as Jitendra (30), was an alcoholic and lived with his wife, Deepa (28).
On Tuesday, upset by his drinking habits and daily assaults, the woman served him a drink laced with sedatives. After he fell unconscious, she slit his throat and killed him.
“Since the body was found, the activities of his wife, Deepa, were suspicious. She looked nervous and at the same time, she was shouting at us and urging us to make arrests in this case. Even their house was not trespassed during the early hours on Tuesday. Her role, in this case, looked suspicious,” said a senior Nagar police officer, as reported by TOI.
She was detained and questioned. She confessed to her crime on Wednesday and stated that her husband was a habitual drinker and also assaulted her every day over trivial issues.
