Rajasthan: Two newborns die due to overheating in warmer in infant nursery

Two infants died in a nursery of a government hospital in Rajasthan’s Ajmer when the warmer suddenly increased the heat on its own.
Two infants died due to overheating in warmer in the nursery of Amrit Kaur Government Hospital on Monday. The increase in the heat of the warmers in the nursery led to the infants’ deaths.
As soon as police received the information, a team reached the hospital.
Presently, the cause of the accident is being described as a technical fault as the heat in the warmer increased suddenly on its own, which caused the condition of the infants to deteriorate, leading to their death.
The infants were given treatment but could not be saved. As a precaution, the doctors also examined the other infants in the nursery and their health was found to be normal.
A team of police has also been deployed at the Mother and Child Health wing of the hospital. At present, the bodies of both the deceased have been kept in the mortuary.
One of the infants was a baby girl born on April 7 and had been kept in the nursery ever since. The other was a boy born on April 14 and was kept in the same warmer.
