Rajasthan Police on Friday issued notice to a man to stop him from remarrying after his wife filed a complaint at Gudamalani police station in Barmer district.
According to Gudamalani Circle inspector Ramesh Dhaka, a married woman named Priyanka had filed a complaint that her husband was getting married again.
On the complaint of the wife, a notice was issued to the husband for not remarrying, Dhaka said.
The couple had been married for eight years.
According to the police, the man had remarried a day earlier. Meanwhile, the police reached Mokhawa village and investigated the incident after the woman lodged a complaint. However, the in-laws denied that their son had remarried again.
Priyanka said that she wanted to live with her husband, Shravan Kumar. However, Kumar allegedly wanted her out of the house and get married again without divorcing her, police said.
To stop her husband's second marriage, Priyanka met with Barmer Superintendent of police (SP) and also lodged a complaint with the police.
