A truck collided head-on with a trailer in Rajasthan's Jalore on Thursday and the vehicles caught fire. The truck driver got trapped inside and was burnt alive.
One person was burnt alive after a truck collided head-on with a trailer in Rajasthan's Jalore district on late Thursday night. The incident occurred yesterday night in Chitalwana's Meethi Beri village and the vehicles brushed against each other, triggering a collision due to which the vehicles caught fire.
The deceased, identified as Manish, a resident of Sindhari village in Rajasthan, was going towards Barmer with a vegetable-laden truck. The collision was so severe that the driver got trapped in the truck and was burnt alive. The flames engulfed the vehicle and Manish was stuck in his seat and was charred to death.
A vegetable-laden truck collided with a trailer filled with sand, leading to a collision and the incident was so severe that the victim died in the spot.
An official posted at the Chitwala police station, Khamma Ram, said, "We received the information about the fire that erupted after the collision of vehicles was received. Fire tenders were called and the fire was doused. The truck driver, Manish, was coming from Gujarat and was heading towards Barmer. When the vehicle caught fire after the collision, he got trapped inside and was burnt alive. He died on the spot."
After receiving the information about the incident, police officers reached the spot and launched an investigation. The driver of the trailer also received some minor injuries, police said.
Additional SP and Deputy Superintendent of Police also reached the spot and took cognisance of the entire matter.
