The Rajasthan Congress is shifting its MLAs to a hotel in Udaipur ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections on June 10. Independent legislators and other party MLAs supporting the ruling Congress will also be shifted.
The Congress party has decided to shift its MLAs in Rajasthan to a hotel in Udaipur, with party sources saying they fear that the BJP will poach them ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections on June 10.
Congress will likely take its MLAs to Aravali Resort in Udaipur. They will be taken today, June 2, after the ongoing training camp at Clark Hotel in Jaipur ends.
Also, independent legislators and those belonging to other parties and supporting the ruling outfit will be shifted to Udaipur.
As many as 40 rooms have also been booked in Jaisalmer's Suryagarh. The Haryana Congress MLAs will also be taken to Jaipur, preparations are underway.
Senior Congress leader Ajay Maken is contesting from Haryana. There is a slight inconvenience due to an independent nominee's candidature.
Tomorrow, the BJP is likely to barricade its MLAs in a hotel.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had said the ruling Congress with its 108 MLAs in the state Assembly is set to win two of the four seats in the RS elections on June 10.
