'Rahul Gandhi tried to twist history': Rajnath on Galwan Valley comment
India Today
Rajnath Singh said Rahul Gandhi was trying to distort history and accused former Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi of pursuing a flawed policy on China.
A day after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar made a jibe at Rahul Gandhi on his comments on Pakistan-China relations, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that Rahul Gandhi is trying to distort history with his claims on Galwan Valley.
“Rahul Gandhi tried to twist history. Not even an inch of the land went to China during the Galwan Valley clash,” Rajnath Singh said.
He was speaking at an election rally in Punjab.
“Rahul Gandhi quoted Chinese mouthpiece Global Times on the Galwan Valley issue. He should have seen the Australian paper that mentioned the possibility of 40-50 Chinese casualties in the clash,” he added.
“Rahul Gandhi himself was having dinner with the Chinese ambassador when the Galwan clash occurred,” Rajnath Singh lashed out.
