Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is gearing up to "reconnect with the people" and reach out to party 'karyakartas' (workers) in the upcoming Bharat Jodo Yatra which will kick off on September 7.
Ahead of the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra on September 7, party leader Rahul Gandhi sent a loud and clear message from Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on Sunday. At the ‘Mehangai Par Halla Bol’ rally held by the party, Rahul said, “Only Congress workers can save the country.”
Rahul’s emphasis on the party workers and their role in saving the country is evident of the imminent change that is expected to sweep the Congress in the coming days. The message is clear in the updated version of Congress, “Party workers will be the king”.
Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said, “It is an ideological war. Only Congress ideology can take the nation on the path of progress. Only Congress workers can save India. The Congress party along with other parties will defeat the BJP and RSS.”

On March 19, 2018, Rahul Gandhi, in his first address to the Congress party as its President, said that as party chief his top priority would be to “demolish the wall” between the party top brass—AICC general secretaries, incharges, secretaries, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chiefs, MPs—and grassroots workers.
According to Congress sources, one key aspect of the Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra is strengthening of the organisation. Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi both said the party has to “reconnect” with the people and strengthen the organisation by reaching out to the most pivotal factor in the party - the karyakartas (party workers).
“Apart from reaching out to people, Rahul Gandhi is interacting with Congress workers in the country through various programs. Whether it was in Delhi, Gujarat or even during Bharat Jodi Yatra he will interact with our party workers,” said a member of the Congress Working Committee (CWC).
