R Madhavan on language debate says, 'fight should be in competitive spirit, not become nasty' | Exclusive
India Today
R Madhavan has an interesting take on the ongoing language debate. He spoke to IndiaToday.in exclusively and said that the fight should be competitive in nature.
R Madhavan is the latest actor to express his views on the language debate. It all started with Kiccha Sudeep and Ajay Devgn's Twitter chat where the two debated over Hindi and South language films. Soon, the entire nation seemed divided over the subject. R Madhavan, who is busy promoting his film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, told IndiaToday.in that he feels that as long as these debates are in a competitive spirit, it is okay. He also added that the internal fight will never end, but what's important is that we stand united as a fraternity outside.
R MADHAVAN ON LANGUAGE DEBATEEarlier, R Madhavan had expressed that it feels unfortunate that language debate is still ongoing. With his recent film, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, being presented as an Indian film at Cannes, IndiaToday.in asked R Madhavan if he feels the internal debate on language is redundant. R Madhavan responded, "It is the Indian film industry, you know. It's actually sort of like having a family. Within a family, you will always have fights, you will always try to do something, because getting into a conflict is the nature of the mind. But if somebody threatens your family, then there is no way you let those fights get in the way of you standing together as a family. So yeah, within India, we keep fighting the dominant distributor in the industry, the Telugu industry, the Malayalam industry, the Marathi industry, the Hindi industry, but hey, when you put a united front and everybody gets together, it's instinctive, it doesn't have to be inculcated."
So, how do we put an end to debates? R Madhavan prompted, "It shouldn't. The fight gives conflict scale rise to creativity. I think you should keep fighting, you should keep going, but keep it in the nature of competitiveness, and not in nastiness, and that's what is happening right now. Nobody's pulling and pointing fingers at each other. They're just saying he was right, I was right. We are better, he's better."R Madhavan has worked in both South and Hindi cinema. Some of his most noted works include Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, 3 Idiots, Vikram Vedha, Rang De Basanti, Kannathil Muthamittal, Run, among many others.Meanwhile, his next Rocketry: The Nambi Effect releases on July 1, 2022.
