R Balki's Chup: Revenge of The Artist has intrigued the audience ever since its trailer dropped on social media. The upcoming film, which releases on September 23, is a romantic psychological thriller that depicts the pain of an artist who suffers from bad criticism and negative reviews. It stars Dulquer Salmaan and Sunny Deol in lead roles. In an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, R Balki opened up on how negative reviews inspired him to make Chup.
R Balki talked about receiving criticism and how it affects people. He said, "I made Chup because I felt the pain of negative reviews like many other people. It's not just about films. It's about any kind of criticism that people face in life. I feel criticism today has become a fashion. People jump to criticise. It does pain a lot if you are sensitive."
The power-packed cast of Chup includes Dulquer Salmaan, Sunny Deol, Shreya Dhanwanthary, who made a mark for herself with Scam: 1992, and Pooja Bhatt, who recently made a massive comeback with Bombay Begums. Chup is written and directed by R. Balki. Chup is scheduled to be released on September 23, 2022. Dr Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios) presents the film and all India distribution is by Pen Marudhar. Cinematographer Vishal Sinha and music directors Amit Trivedi, Sneha Khanvilkar and Aman Pant are part of the crew. Pranab Kapadia and Anirudh Sharma are co-producers of the film.
