R Ashwin promises to use DRS better: Took Rishabh Pant aside and told him we needed to discuss reviews
India Today
Speaking to India Today, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin light-heartedly revealed how he took wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant aside and discussed the DRS reviews after quite a few went against him during the 4-Test series against England.
India off-spinner R Ashwin said he will certainly look to improve his usage of the Decision Review System (DRS) but stressed that playing on red soil at home after a long time did make it difficult to assess the bounce and trajectory when going for reviews. R Ashwin and Virat Kohli got quite a few DRS decisions wrong during the 4-Test series against England during which local umpires were spot on, more often than not. Ashwin, who topped the bowling charts with 32 wickets in 4 Tests, got a few DRS calls wrong during the course of the series. It seemed as if Ashwin was confident and tried to pursue captain Virat Kohli when it came to close calls that did not go the off-spinner’s way during the 4-Test series. India lost the first Test only to come back and beat England 3-1 and secure a spot in the final of the World Test Championship.More Related News
