Quinton de Kock and David Miller will play for the Barbados Royals in the 2022 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
South Africa’s Quinton de Kock and David Miller are set to ply their trade for the Barbados Royals in the 2022 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Even as de Kock is set to feature in the tournament for the first time, Miller has already represented the Jamaica Tallawahs and the St Lucia Zouks.
Miller, recently, played a crucial role in helping the Gujarat Titans win the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) in their maiden appearance. Corbin Bosch, who was a part of the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, will play for Barbados in the CPL.
Afghanistan cricketer Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Pakistan wicketkeeper Azam Khan will also play for the Royals in the CPL, which is scheduled to get underway on August 31.
“We are delighted to have signed some of the best overseas players of the T20 format, who we feel will complement our retentions perfectly," Trevor Penney, the coach of the Royals, was quoted as saying.
"Quinton is a proven match winner who has delivered for both his country and all the franchises he’s played for around the world, and we are delighted that he’s chosen the Royals as the team to start his CPL journey at,” he stated.
"On the other hand, having worked closely with David Miller and Corbin Bosch at the Rajasthan Royals, we know exactly what they bring to the table and at the same time, they also understand the philosophy of the Royals perfectly," Penny added.
The Royals have five more slots to fill and they are likely to complete their squad in the draft, which is set to take place on Thursday, July 7th.
