In a special tribute ahead of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, the British monarch’s portraits have been projected on the prehistoric monument Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England. A photo of the tribute was shared on the official Twitter handle of Stonehenge. The internet, however, is really not impressed with the gesture.
“Our spellbinding homage to Her Majesty The #Queen! We've projected eight portraits of Queen Elizabeth II onto Stonehenge in celebration of the #PlatinumJubilee,” reads a tweet posted on Stonehenge’s profile.

English Heritage, the organisation that manages and takes care of the iconic monument, also took to Twitter to reveal that eight portraits have been projected onto Stonehenge and each picture is from a different decade of the Queen’s reign.
"We've brought two British icons together to mark the #PlatinumJubilee! We’ve projected eight portraits of Queen Elizabeth II onto Stonehenge. Each picture is from a different decade of The Queen’s reign," their tweet reads.
