Quebec voters cast their ballots with hours left and amid tight races across the province

Voters are facing lineups at polling stations across the province, as many Quebecers head to vote after work in what has shaped up to be a nail-biter in several ridings.
Some of those riding races are so tight, candidates have been polling with less than a percentage point between them.
Polls are open until 9:30 p.m. in most of the province, though they close at 8:30 p.m. in the riding of Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine.
Several toss-up ridings between the Bloc Québécois and Liberals are on the South Shore of Montreal, including Longueuil–Saint-Hubert and Longueuil–Charles-LeMoyne.
In Montreal, one toss-up to watch is the riding of Hochelaga, which has flipped between Liberals, the Bloc and the NDP in recent years. The Liberal incumbent, Soraya Martinez Ferrada, is facing off again against the Bloc's Simon Marchand, who lost to her by only 328 votes in 2019.
One polling station in Montreal was the site of a serious accident, with several people injured after a woman lost control of her vehicle in the parking lot of Sunshine Academy, located on Sunshine Street in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
Montreal police spokesperson Const. Caroline Chèvrefils said the incident was accidental and the injuries are minor.
