QRCS helps families affected by flooding in Sudan
Gulf Times
Under its multiple humanitarian operations in Sudan, Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) is proceeding with the activities of the relief campaign for the victims of flooding there. Recently, QRCS has completed the distribution of food and non-food items to those affected by flooding in White Nile, River Nile, and Khartoum. A total of 2,758 families benefited from these distributions, or 16,548 beneficiaries all over the three states. The Sudanese officials in these states thanked Qatar for its permanent support to Sudan and valued QRCS's humanitarian role there. Having been working in Sudan since 2003, QRCS has numerous projects currently in progress, mainly supporting the voluntary return and stability in Darfur under State of Qatar's initiative for the development and reconstruction of the region. Other projects include rehabilitation and furnishing of hospitals and health centers, supporting COVID-19 control efforts, and many other nationwide water and sanitation, shelter, health, and food security projects.
