Tribune News NetworkDohaQatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and Qatar Postal Services Company (Qatar Post) signed an agreement on Saturday to strengthen their cooperation in deploying effective and sustainable humanitarian response by leveraging each partyâs practical experience and resources.The agreement was signed by QRCS Secretary-General Ali bin Hassan Al-Hammadi and Qatar Post Chairman and Managing Director Faleh al-Naemi.Al-Hammadi praised Qatar Postâs strong relations with QRCS, âThis partnership is not new; we have worked together in the past. And today, we are resurrecting it in order to build on its positive outcomes for our humanitarian action, in the best interests of the public, and for further development under Qatar National Vision 2030.ââThis agreement is part of QRCSâs strategy of enhancing various aspects of humanitarian work, paving the way for the organiSationâs development and social mandates to be more easily fulfilled,â he added. âWith our humanitarian partnership, we hope to go as far as we can.âAl-Naemi expressed his delight at collaborating with the countryâs leading NGO, which serves people both locally and internationally. Today, more than ever, in the midst of a major health crisis around the world, Qatar Post has demonstrated its deepest sense of corporate responsibility to the community in need. âWe have made available, unconditionally and without reservation, our managerial talent and delivery resources, who have worked incessantly and around the clock to support the countryâs need for daily medicine deliveries to thousands of patientsâ homes. Our long-standing collaboration with QRCS is yet another example of our commitment to contributing to the well-being of our society both in Qatar and around the world, thereby alleviating human suffering.â âWe are grateful to QRCS for providing us with the opportunity to serve,â al-Naemi added.Under the terms of the agreement, Qatar Post will provide QRCS with a variety of services, including the promotion of its operations through the use of posters at the General Post Office and the companyâs online portal.It also enables the promotion of some of QRCSâs major seasonal campaigns, such as the Ramadan, Adahi, and Warm Winter campaigns, to Qatar Postâs clients. QRCS will be commemorated with commemorative stamps, donation collection boxes will be placed at the companyâs General Post Office, and bilateral training workshops will be held on its premises.More importantly, Qatar Post will assist QRCS in the deployment and delivery of humanitarian aid shipments both within and outside of Qatar.In exchange, QRCS will provide field training to Qatar Post employees, enroll five Qatar Post employees as trainees in its annual Disaster Management Camp (DMC), and invite Qatar Post employees to public awareness sessions on International Humanitarian Law and the Geneva Conventions.More Related News
