QOC completes vaccination for international athletes ahead of Tokyo 2020 Olympics

Doha: The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) has completed its vaccination program for athletes who were unable to be vaccinated in their home countries in advance of travelling to Japan for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

This initiative came within the framework of QOC’s partnership with the International Olympic Committee, which, in coordination with the National Olympic Committees, established two centers in Qatar and Rwanda to provide additional opportunities for vaccination against the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic for groups of participants in the Olympic and Paralympic Games.  After a group of countries joined this great initiative, the QOC agreed jointly with the IOC, Pfizer-BioNTech and Qatar Airways to provide vaccinations
