Doha: In its 15 years of operation, the Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) has nurtured a thriving culture of scientific research and built the much-needed next generation of scientists and engineers to advance knowledge and education in Qatar, said QNRF Executive Director Dr. Abdul Sattar Al Taie during a public lecture given at Texas A&M University at Qatar.
Texas A&M at Qatar, a Qatar Foundation partner university, hosted the talk as part of its Al Maerifa Public Seminar Series, which is designed to share expertise and knowledge with the local community in Qatar.
During the talk, Al Taie said that by supporting original and competitive research in all fields of science through QNRF’s diverse portfolio of funding programmes and initiatives, the agency has played a pivotal role in advancing Qatar’s progress toward its national vision and sustainability goals. He shed light on QNRF’s journey and growth to become the leading research funding agency in the region. He also shared how QNRF has helped the scientific research community in Qatar forge fruitful partnerships both locally and internationally to raise Qatar’s profile as a leading international research hub.
