Doha: Qatar Mobility Innovations Center (QMIC), based at Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), took the initiative to host summer interns from multiple universities in Qatar and in the region.
This internship program strongly aligns with its vision and commitment to supporting QMIC’s mandate to cultivate local youth and develop the next generation of professionals.
Over the course of the summer, QMIC welcomed a diverse group of over 20 undergraduate students with various background, ranging from Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Business, and more. This gave them the ability to not only understand how QMIC operates, but to also gain hands-on experience in their designated fields. By integrating the interns into QMIC’s projects, they were able to gain valuable practical application of their academic knowledge to real-world challenges.
Omar Al Jaber, Director of Strategic Partnerships and Outreach at QMIC, commented: “We would like to thank QSTP for offering an excellent working environment, including providing an office place for some of the students to work in. Not only do the students get to apply their academic learnings into the real-world, but QMIC also benefits from their fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. It is a great way to prepare the next generation of talent, as they are playing a proactive role in developing the leaders who will shape Qatar’s future”.
Dr. Fethi Filali, the Director of Technology & Research at QMIC, stated, “We are proud to host these talented interns who are working on cutting-edge projects in fields such as Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, Cooperative & Automated Mobility, and smart embedded systems. Our focus on these technical aspects ensures that the students gain hands-on experience with the latest technologies, preparing them for future challenges and innovations in their careers”.
