Doha, Qatar: Two weeks to go until the Olympic Games kick off in Paris, the Qatari security forces arrived today, June 12, in the French capital to participate in securing the Paris 2024 Olympics (July 26-August 11) and Paralympic Games (August 28-September 8).
At the forefront of welcoming the force upon its arrival at the airport were the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the French Republic HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani and Brigadier General Nawaf Majid Al Ali, Commander of the Qatari Security Forces to secure the Paris 2024 Olympics, along with senior French security officials led by Major General Emmanuel Melkernia, Assistant Director General of the Directorate of International Security Cooperation at the French Ministry of the Interior; Major General Jean-Valery Letterman, Head of the Directorate of Public Relations and Liaison at the French National Gendarmerie; Lieutenant Colonel François Bremand, 2024 Olympic Games Operations Officer at the French National Gendarmerie; and Major Abdul Rahman Al Tamimi, Security Attaché for Internal Security Force Affairs at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the French Republic.
Brigadier General Nawaf Majid Al Ali pointed out that the participation of the forces comes as confirmation of the strength of the relationship between the State of Qatar and the French Republic, especially in the security fields, noting what was confirmed by His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
