Qatar weather: Northwesterly winds, slight dip in temperature from Friday
Gulf Times
Fresh to strong northwesterly winds are expected in the country from Friday until the middle of next week, along with a slight decrease in the temperature, Qatar Met department has said. In a report Tuesday, the department said: "It is expected that the direction of winds will shift to northwesterly on Friday (March 25) and continue to be so until the middle of next week, ranging from fresh to strong with gusts of up to 35 knots at times, causing blowing dust and a decrease in horizontal visibility to less than 2km in some areas and zero visibility sometimes, especially in the open areas." The sea waves are expected to range from 8-10ft, rising to 14ft at times. The northwesterly winds will be accompanied by a slight decrease in the temperature, with the maximum ranging from 23-31C and the minimum from 13-21C in various regions of the country. The 'apparent temperature' will be lower than that due to the fresh northwesterly winds. The Met department has urged people to be careful during this period, and follow the latest weather updates through its official accounts.
