Qatar tops MENA in Global Peace Index 2021

The State of Qatar achieved another milestone in security and safety as the country ranked again the first in Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and 29th globally in the Global Peace Index (GPI) for the year 2021. Issued by the Institute of Economics and Peace in Australia, the 2021 report covered 163 countries globally. The report measures the state of peace across three domains: the level of Societal Safety and Security, the extent of Ongoing Domestic and International Conflict, and the degree of Militarization. Since 2009, Qatar tops the MENA region in the GPI consecutively and ranked ahead of many developed countries globally in the GPI as it scored high ranked in different quantitative and qualitative indicators of the peacefulness.
