Qatar Sunday reports 296 new Covid-19 cases, one death and 133 recoveries

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Sunday reported 296 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the country, with 207 in the community and 89 among travellers, QNA reported. MoPH also announced the death of a 65 year old patient, who had a history of chronic diseases and was receiving the necessary medical are. The MoPH recorded 133 recoveries from the virus during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases recovered in Qatar to 244,748. Vaccination Data: -5,155,770 doses have been administered since the start of the programme -2,760 doses have been administered in the past 24 hours -234,062 booster vaccine doses have been administered to date -86.1% of the total population are now fully vaccinated with two doses. New daily cases of Covid-19 has increased during the recent weeks, MoPH said. Evidence so far shows that the Omicron mutant is the most prevalent, and even today, countries in which the Omicron mutant appears are rapidly registering infections. The health ministry has warned of the danger of the stage in fighting the virus, and has stressed the importance of qualified members of society receiving the booster dose without any delay.
