Qatar-Saudi business council to be activated; meetings to resume ‘soon’, says Qatar Chamber chairman

The meeting discussed ways of strengthening economic and commercial relations between both countries.
Talks have been held for plans to activate the Qatar-Saudi Joint Business Council, according to Qatar Chamber chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani, who recently met with Saudi ambassador Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan in Doha. The meeting was also attended by Qatar Chamber second vice chairman Rashid bin Hamad al-Athba and general manager Saleh bin Hamad al-Sharqi, the chamber said in a statement. Aside from activating the joint business council, the meeting discussed the need to invite council members to meet “as soon as possible” and to discuss ways to regain the momentum of trade and investment relations between Qatari and Saudi businessmen. The meeting discussed ways of strengthening economic and commercial relations between both countries, and it also reviewed the role that the private sector could perform in developing the trade exchange and exploring the investment opportunities available, as well as establishing trade alliances between Qatari and Saudi businessmen that would underpin commercial and investment relations.More Related News
