Qatar's pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, taking place from October 1 until March 31, 2022 is inaugurated by HE Sultan bin Rashid Al-Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI). The inauguration ceremony was attended by a number of dignitaries, officials, and elite businessmen and investors from different countries worldwide, MoCI said in a social media post. In a statement on this occasion, HE Al-Khater pointed out that Qatar was keen, during its participation in this year's international Expo, to shed light on the development that has been achieved in all fields, especially in terms of national industries, the digital transformation of government services, and various creativity and innovation fields, expressing his confidence that the pavilion would be distinguished, iconic, and a source of inspiration for all visitors. After the inauguration ceremony, HE Al-Khater toured Qatar's pavilion, during which he was briefed on the most prominent pioneering mega projects that have been completed within the framework of the QNV and the preparations for hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as well as the developmental achievements made by the country in various fields. HE Al-Khater also visited GCC countries' pavilions, during which he was briefed on their advantages and the most prominent services and projects previewed. Spanning over about 960 sqm, with a built-up area of 620 sqm Qatar's pavilion includes two main galleries and exhibition spaces showcasing Qatar's history and culture, using the latest virtual reality technologies. Through participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, which is taking place under the slogan, "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future," Qatar seeks to consolidate its role as safe and leading global hub for tourism and business and to highlight national efforts to preserve national resources by investing in sustainable development and environmental protection, in addition to constructing green buildings to support the growth of human capital.
