Qatar ready to host safe World Cup: Al Thawadi

Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) H E Hassan Al Thawadi said that the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar will be the first global event that gathers everyone after the coronavirus pandemic, especially after Qatar succeeded in organizing major sporting events while implementing a firm health protocol to ensure protection from the virus.

Addressing a panel discussion entitled “World Cup 2022 and Beyond” during the Qatar Economic Forum, Powered by Bloomberg, Al Thawadi assured Qatar’s ability to safely organise the World Cup 2022 in light of the coronavirus pandemic. He added that everyone might soon celebrate the recovery from this pandemic as there are signs that life has started to return to normal and that the vaccine may provide the masses with a unique opportunity to celebrate the event in Qatar.
