Qatar Postal Services Company (Qatar Post) has announced the launch of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Official Match Ball stamp set. This comes as part of the agreement with FIFA under which Qatar Post became the official Licensee for stamps category for the tournament that will be hosted by Qatar this year. Similar to the previous issues, the launch of the Official Match Ball stamp set comes in co-operation with FIFA and for the official match ball issue its sponsor Adidas, and within the Qatar Posts mandate to document all events, celebrations and preparations managed by Qatar to host the upcoming tournament. Through distinctive designs, each stamp embodies the unique culture of Qatar that will host matches for the first ever FIFA World Cup played in an Arab country. This will be the 8th stamp issue in the series and the stamp set issue will be sold to the public for QAR 15. As a first stage 20,000 copies, 3,000 First Day issue envelopes, 3,000 Postcards and 3,000 VIP folders have been printed. For this issue Qatar Post will also produce a very limited edition VVIP folder to showcase this unique design stamp set. Qatar Post continues to be proud to cooperate with FIFA and the Supreme Committee for delivery & Legacy to launch this series of stamp editions, which falls within the Qatar Post program to document all events, occasions and preparations related to hosting the most anticipated and the biggest football tournament in the world".
