(Continued from Page 1) The FM expressed hope that representatives of the Qatari and Russian business sector will reach good agreements and place plans for future cooperation. The FM, accompanied by the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting Minister of Finance and the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, then toured the Qatari pavilion. They were presented with the most prominent Qatari developmental landmarks, in addition to the biggest projects in the country. Afterwards, he visited the conferenceâs other pavilions and got to know about the different investment opportunities offered by the Russian government in the conference, in addition to being briefed on the major public and private institutions in the countryâs different economic sectors. The participation of Qatar in the forum aims to shed light on the Qatari economy and its leading position at the regional and international levels and to introduce the attractive investment environment that Qatar provides to businessmen and investors from all over the world. It also aims to review the most prominent incentives, advantages and initiatives launched to support the private sector and enhance the competitiveness and diversification of the Qatari economy in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030. It also comes in the framework of strengthening the distinguished bilateral relations between Qatar and Russia. The pavilion of Qatar includes several government agencies, including the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Finance, the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Russian-Qatari Business Council, the Qatar Development Bank, the Qatar Financial Center, the Qatar Investment Authority, the Investment Promotion Agency and the Free Zones Authority, Ooredoo, Qatar Airways, Qatar National Tourism Council, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, Qatar Science and Technology Park, Qatar University, Center for Sustainable Development - College of Arts and Sciences, and Hamad Bin Khalifa University. Qatar is participating as this yearâs guest country. The countryâs delegation has representatives from more than 50 Qatar institutions, in addition to high-ranking officials and business personalities. Qatarâs pavilion will host a number of events, forums, dialogue sessions, round table discussions and bilateral meetings. These events will cover a number of topics such as the innovative ecological systems in Qatar and Russia, the economic and social impact of sports, job opportunities provided by the World Cup Qatar 2022, world innovation and health, Qatari-Russian cultural dialogue, the relationship between West Asia and North Africa, among many other topics. The St Petersburg International Economic Forum was launched in 1997 and is considered an important global platform for policy makers, economy experts, and major corporate executive from all over the globe to meet. There will be more than 130 panel discussions during the event that cover a wide variety of topics related to the development of different economic sectors.More Related News
