QNADohaQatar on Monday opened a second office, in Lusail, to serve as a one-stop (single window) solution for non-Qataris to purchase and manage real estate in the country. The first one opened in The Pearl-Qatar in October last year.Set up by the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Interior, the office facilitates the sale and purchase of land, residential units and offices in the areas non-Qataris are allowed to buy, and enables beneficiaries to obtain the title deeds in less than an hour.It also provides, through an automated system developed by the two ministries, residency permits upon completion of ownership or usufruct procedures as per eligibilities.Qatar recently increased the number of locations where non-Qataris can buy or leasehold real estate. They can now buy real estate in nine areas, up from three before, and lease out properties (for 99 years) in 16 locations.Buyers of a property worth QR3.65 million ($1 million) or more will be eligible for permanent residency, with benefits including healthcare and education, and the right to invest in certain commercial activitiesA lower class of residency status is open to buyers of real estate worth QR730,000 ($200,000), who can obtain renewable residency permits for themselves and their families without employer sponsorship.During the inauguration of the office, Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi reviewed the workflow of the office and the procedures in place to provide services in accordance with the quality and efficiency standards set by the competent authorities as part of the procedures for launching the office.The minister thanked the government and private agencies, especially the Ministry of Interior and the Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, which contributed to providing the required facilities, which aim to support the national development process and establish an integrated investment infrastructure that constitutes a catalyst and true support for the national economy.He said on this occasion that the State of Qatar today enjoys the best environment for real estate investment supported by an integrated legal system that includes various economic and investment fields. He added that the Lusail office will constitute a qualitative addition to the services provided by the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Interior in Lusail, in addition to the services provided by the Pearl Office, which constitutes a new window for providing real estate ownership services and benefiting easily. These offices will also contribute to the implementation of the objectives of Cabinet Resolution No. 28 of 2020 in accordance with an integrated vision with the National Development Strategy 2017-2022 and the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.For his part, Director General of the General Directorate of Passports Brigadier Mohamed Ahmed Al Ateeq said that the office for non-Qatari real estate ownership and use in Lusail aims to facilitate for investors and real estate owners obtaining residency services associated with real estate ownership, adding it enhances efforts to encourage investment in the country, as this office is the second office opened by the Ministry of Interior in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, after the Pearl Office.Director General Al Ateeq praised the permanent coordination between the Ministries of Interior and Justice in providing outstanding services to citizens and investors, reflecting the great development taking place by the country.For his part, Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Justice for Real Estate Registration and Documentation and Head of Committee for the Regulation of Ownership and Use of Non-Qatari Property Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi said that the opening of the Lusail City office for the real estate ownership and use by non-Qataris came under the directives of HE Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr. Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi, in coordination with the real estate development companies in the country and the new economic zones, to implement Cabinet Resolution No. 28 of 2020 in order to serve the development of the real estate sector and keep pace with the economic development in the new investment zones in the country.Al Suwaidi explained that these offices serve various regions and cities covered by the aforementioned Cabinet Resolution.He explained that these offices allow investors to own real estate and use in about 25 areas. The resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 28 for 2020 allowed ownership in 9 areas characterized by investment attractiveness, advanced infrastructure, and modern communication network, while the number of areas of use of real estate is 16 areas.He pointed out that all beneficiaries and dealers can have new benefits according to which Qatari and non-Qatari citizens may own a detached unit in a residential complex, and they may also own the detached units (offices and shops) in malls. Al Suwaidi noted the success of the first phase that witnessed the opening of an office for non-Qatari real estate ownership and use in the Pearl area and the volume of turnout witnessed by the office.On this occasion, CEO of Qatari Diar Eng. Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah said that they are happy to launch today the services of an office for non-Qatari real estate ownership in Lusail City, which came as a result of continuous cooperation with various state ministries to provide the largest amount of services in Lusail City to owners and investors, a matter which will open up greater horizons for investment opportunities in the city.More Related News
