Doha, Qatar: Muslims across Qatar began Eid Al Adha celebrations with prayers and greetings yesterday morning. A plethora of events and activities kicked off in various locations highlighting the festival across the country in the evening.
Eid Al Adha, also known as the festival of sacrifices, is observed on Dhul Hijjah 10, and is one of the most important occasions in Islam. It commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s ultimate test of faith when Allah commanded him to sacrifice his son Ismail, before providing a lamb as a substitute.
Eid Al Adha this year is celebrated from June 16 to 20 with vibrant events, special deals, and exciting activities across Qatar that are perfect for those seeking short stays and leisurely experiences, and families spending fun-filled quality time together.
Yesterday evening, all major venues of the Eid Al Adha activities attracted a huge number of visitors. The Cultural Village Katara has once again reaffirmed its position as a prime Eid destination as visitors in large numbers thronged to witness the activities and fireworks.
