Tribune News NetworkDohaQatar Care, the first home care and medical services agency in Qatar with a Diamond Level of Accreditation from Canada International, recently held a celebratory event to honour its staff and appreciate of the selfless and humane work of nurses in the country who have been working round the clock on all fronts, including volunteering for COVID-19 relief. The event was organised to mark the International Nurses Day.The International Nurses Day is observed every year May 12 along with the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. Nurses are essential caretakers of a society and this has perhaps not been so well realised as during the ongoing pandemic.Celebrated in accordance with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) protocols, the International Nurses Day saw Qatar Care provide several gifts and flowers to its nursing staff.Speaking of the event, Qatar Care CEO Saleh AlEida said, âThe role the nursing staff plays in the well-being of a society is very special. During the ongoing pandemic, this has only been amplified.âWe at Qatar Care have always believed that a nurse not only provides healthcare services but is crucial in contributing towards happiness and feelings. They give more to the society than receive. They are always at the forefront of caring for the society whenever needed whether for normal health care or during a pandemic.âHe added, âEvery year, we celebrate this day but this year, it was much different because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We try our best to keep up the spirit of our nursing staff and make them as comfortable as possible. We have been proud of them at Qatar Care since the beginning of 2007 when we first came up.âThe staff were delighted at the celebration and many were thrilled to receive surprise gifts as well as bouquets.Qatar Care, as first home care company in Qatar, provides services in nursing, physiotherapy, caring for new-born and their mothers, and other medical health needs at home, hospitals, construction companies and several other places. The celebration of the International Nurses Day started in 1965 by the International Council of Nurses(ICN) in remembrance of the famous Florence Nightingale, an English nurse, social reformer and statistician. During the Crimean war, she gained fame while serving as a manager and trainer of nurses, becoming the pillar of modern nursing.More Related News
