QNA GenevaQatar has affirmed that it attaches great importance to the right to education as a priority within the framework of Qatar National Vision 2030 and its reliance on an educational system to provide quality education for all.This came in Qatarâs statement delivered by the Third Secretary of the permanent delegation of Qatar in Geneva Abdullah Behzad during the interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on the right to education before the Human Rights Council at its 50th session, within the framework of item (3) of the councilâs agenda.Behzad pointed out that, within the framework of the great progress witnessed by science and information technology in Qatar, the trend is moving towards employing digital technology to serve the educational process, as the Ministry of Education and Higher Education adopted the e-learning strategy with the aim of providing an advanced technological environment that serves learners in an effective and innovative manner. He added that the ministry also launched e-learning programme, an initiative that aims to develop the educational process and provide electronic services based on integrated digital technology, with the aim of improving the quality of teaching and learning.He highlighted that the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, during the implementation of the preventive and precautionary measures related to COVID-19 pandemic launched the distance education system, and five electronic platforms were allocated, including the e-learning portal. He added that the ministry also provided electronic devices for students and teachers to ensure the continuity of the study process.
