PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi also discussed constructing a helipad in Yadgir, Hunsagi, and Shorapur and suggested repairing the road belonging to the department.
Minister for Public Works Satish Jarkiholi has suggested to officers to think about recalling the tender for construction of the Yadgir bypass road while chairing a meeting in Yadgir on January 6.
Mr. Jarkiholi said that ₹136.29 crore was sanctioned for construction of an 8.75-kilometre road, and the tender was fixed for ₹104.04 crore. A technical problem occurred due to a delay in implementing the project. Therefore, the officers should think of recalling the tender, he added.
The Minister directed the officers to submit a proposal to construct a separate slope road near Ramsamudra village, attaching it to the national highway between Gulbarga and Gooty, as the road towards Telangana has become bad due to poor space.
He also discussed constructing a helipad in Yadgir, Hunsagi, and Shorapur and suggested repairing the road belonging to the department.
Mr. Jarkiholi has got information from officers about the bypass to Gurmitkal and the ring road to Hunsagi. He inspected the condition of National Highway number 150 from Kalaburagi to the Telangana border via Wadi, Yadgir, and Kadechur, and National Highway number 150A from Jewargi to Chamaraj Nagar.
He, thereafter, addressed the media at the press conference. He announced that the three Assembly constituencies in the district are getting ₹40 crore each for the development of roads.
Mr. Jarkiholi countered those who are demanding the resignation of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge and said that the suicide of contractor Sachin Panchal is different from the suicide of Santosh Patil in which former BJP leader K.S. Eshwarappa was named. “Mr. Priyank should not resign from the ministerial post,” he added.
