Following the arrest of BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, his father told India Today that he was punched in the way by the Punjab Police, who dragged his son away by force.
Kripal Singh Bagga, father of arrested BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, alleged that Punjab Police personnel barged into his Delhi home on Friday morning and dragged his son away without giving a proper reason.
Kripal Singh further alleged that when he protested, he was punched in the face by a Punjab Police officer.
“Ten to 15 men from the Punjab Police barged into my home. They punched me in the face when I tried to film a video. They sat me down by force and took my phone,” he said.
“Tajinder asked for a cloth to cover his head. At 8:30 am, they caught hold of Tajinder and dragged him outside. We were not informed why he was being taken into custody, no reason whatsoever was given,” he added.
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) national secretary Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga was arrested from his Delhi home by the Punjab Police. He was booked after AAP leader Sunny Singh filed a complaint against him alleging that Bagga had made provocative statements, spread rumours, and tried to create religious and communal enmity.
Bagga allegedly threatened Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during a protest on March 30. The complainant also submitted statements and video clips of Bagga to the police.
