Punjab: Five-year-old killed, 4 injured in car-bike collision in Sangrur

A speeding car rammed into two motorcycles in Punjab's Sangrur district on Thursday in which a five-year-old child was killed and four others were injured. The driver of the car has been arrested.
A five-year-old child was killed and four people sustained injuries in a high-impact crash involving a car and two motorcycles that caused a two-wheeler to overturn in Punjab's Sangrur on Thursday. Police have arrested the driver of the speeding car who rammed the vehicle into two motorcycles in Munak. The video of the horrific car-bike collision was captured on CCTV camera.
A couple, both residents of Lehragaga in Punjab, were returning to their home with their five-year-old child when a speeding car hit their bike on the highway. The intensity of the accident was so severe that the victims were thrown in the air. Locals rushed the njured people immediately to the hospital for medical treatment.
The child was then referred to Rajindra hospital in Patiala but succumbed to his injuries. Police have arrested the driver of the car and a case has been filed.
Infuriated locals staged a protest along the Munak-Chandigarh Highway and claimed that many accidents had happened on the road earlier. They demanded that the authorities should construct speed breakers to avoid such mishaps in the future.
They said that the administration had assured them to take steps to reduce the accident but nothing was done.
