Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa ordered a probe on Wednesday into allegations of 'recruitment of non-Punjabis' in the police force.
Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa ordered a probe on Wednesday into claims of gangster-turned-social activist Lakha Sidhana that Punjab Police recruited nearly 300 constables and other officials from other states.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Lakha Sidhana alleged that "nearly 300 people from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar were recruited in the ranks of constables, inspectors and DSPs [in Punjab]".
