
Punjab Cuts Petrol Price By Rs 10, Chief Minister Says First In 70 Years

Congress-ruled Punjab has given a hefty discount on petrol and diesel ahead of next year's assembly election. Announcing that petrol prices will be cut by Rs 10 and diesel by Rs 5 in Punjab, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said this "hasn't happened in 70 years".
"Petrol in Punjab has become cheapest in the region. As compared to Delhi, petrol in Punjab is now Rs 9 less," the Chief Minister said.
