Congress has advised Akali Dal to organise a 'Mafi yatra' instead of 100-day yatra in Punjab.
Congress has ridiculed Shiromani Akali Dal over the 100-day yatra plan across Punjab and asked them to organise a 'Mafi Yatra' instead.Spokesperson Punjab government and senior Congress leader Dr Raj Kumar Verka ridiculed SAD and said, hundreds of youths were killed by the drug overdose during the SAD-BJP's decade-old rule.“First you must find out why farmers gheraoed Sukhbir Badal. Ten years back when there was an Akali Dal BJP alliance government that witnessed Shav-Yatras of many youths who were killed by drug overdose and their persecution... They should now bring a 'Mafi Yatra'. Now, people are showing their anger against the Akali Dal leaders. People of Punjab will return the same whatever you gave them. They will never pardon you. You faced a shameful defeat in the past elections and the results will be the same this time,” Dr Raj Kumar Verka added. The first day of the 100-day yatra organised by Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab resulted in a bad experience for the party chief Sukhbir Badal who was shown black flags by the protesting farmers in Ferozepur on Wednesday.“We started the yatra from Zira to expose the corrupt and scam-ridden Congress government as well as the Aam Aadmi Party. Captain Amarinder Singh and Cabinet ministers have pushed Punjab towards backwardness,” Sukhbir Badal said while distributing the SAD's charge sheet against the Congress government at various places on Wednesday. The protesters said they will also chase Akali Dal leaders besides the BJP leaders wherever they will go. Reacting to the Akali Dal's yatra and anger of the farmers, Congress said just like the farmers, other people of the state will also reject Akali Dal.More Related News
