Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi and state sports minister Pargat Singh were seen together at Jalandhar's Katoch Hockey Stadium, where the finals of the 38th Surjit Hockey tournament was played.
Former Indian hockey team captain and Punjab sports minister Pargat Singh showcased his dribbling skills in Jalandhar during the Baba GS Bodhi Veteran Hockey League on Sunday, a day after Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi was seen on the hockey turf as a goalkeeper in Mohali. Both Charanjit Singh Channi and Pargat Singh were seen together at Jalandhar's Katoch Hockey Stadium, where the finals of the 38th Surjit Hockey tournament was played.Pargat Singh played hockey with the veterans, including former Olympians Harpreet Singh Mander and Sanjeev Kumar, who played in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.Young players were seen clicking selfies with the veteran hockey players. "The players of yesteryear would have to come forward in order to create a congenial atmosphere for sports because these veterans are the role models of youth who would be inspired to take up sports to follow the examples set by these great players", Pargat Singh said.
