
Punjab appoints full-time DGP: VK Bhawra to be third DGP in 3 months in poll-bound state

The Punjab government on Saturday appointed VK Bhawra, a 1987-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, as the state’s new director general of police (DGP). He will be the third DGP in 3 months in the poll-bound state.

The 1987-batch IPS officer is the third DGP in the state in a span of three months. He has been appointed to the top post for a minimum period of two years from the date of assumption of office.
