A woman fought with four armed dacoits to defend her toddler in Indapur in Pune. The whole incident was captured in a CCTV camera nearby. The dacoits had fled the scene after seeing the woman putting up a fight with them to defend her child.
The incident took place at around 1 AM on June 4 when the miscreants broke open the front door and barged into the house of a businessman from Uttar Pradesh, Dharmarajya Kashyap. His wife, Neelam, woke up from the noise and tried to stop the dacoits. When the dacoits pulled out sharp edged weapons, Neelam’s maternal instinct kicked in and she started fighting with the dacoits to stop them from going further in the house where her child was sleeping.
She attacked two dacoits by aggressively throwing a stone at them. Seeing that she was putting up a fight and would not give up easily, the dacoits fled the scene. The whole incident was caught on a CCTV camera.
Neelam told India Today, “Around 1 AM on June 4, when I was feeding my child, I heard noises coming from the entrance of the house. When I went to check, a masked man held a knife at her and demanded money.”
She said that she was also very scared at the time, but the thought of protecting her two-year-old came before anything else. “So, I gathered courage and opposed the miscreants. I pushed one of them and picked up a stone lying outside and attacked them with it,” she said. Continuing, she said, “My husband also woke up after all this commotion and we chased the miscreants away.”
Police had reached the spot about half an hour later after which a report was filed. The dacoits however escaped with two mobile phones and three bags.
