Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajith Pawar said that Pune schools will not be reopening anytime soon and that a concrete decision had not been taken yet considering the rising Covid019 cases in the district,
On Saturday, Pawar attended a review meeting regarding pandemic-related guidelines and announced a few precautionary measures for the same to curb its spread.
However, he said that another meeting would be held the next week to decide on the reopening of schools and a decision will be taken after that. Pune schools are now closed till January 30.
As per a PTI report, Ajit Pawar said, "Considering the present rise in Covid-19 cases, no decision has been taken on the resumption of offline classes in schools and colleges.”
“The situation will be further reviewed in the coming week, following which a decision will be taken,” he said.
Pawar said, "At least 51 percent children in the age group of 15 to 18 years have been administered the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in Pune district and 75 percent have taken the dose in rural Pune."
Ajith Pawar said that only sportspeople who were fully vaccinated could use the swimming pools and grounds.
