The Puducherry Raj Nivas received yet another bomb threat via email on Wednesday (April 23, 2025) morning. After a thorough check of the premises by the bomb detection and disposal squads of the territorial police, it was found to be hoax. The Raj Nivas had received a similar hoax mail on April 14.
After the first hoax threat received at Raj Nivas, some persons, last Saturday (April 19), had created a scare in the town by threatening to blow up the residence of the Chief Minister, two prominent hotels, and a restaurant. Searches conducted at the residence of the Chief Minister, the hotels, and at the restaurant found that the threat was a hoax.
The territorial police have approached the Central agencies, including the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre, for assistance to investigate hoax bomb threat cases reported in Puducherry in recent times.
