Puducherry Lt. Governor appreciates work done by departments to control spread of COVID-19

U.T. was able to safeguard lives of people without slowdown of economy, says Tamilisai Soundararajan
Lt. Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday placed on record the efforts taken by different departments of the territorial administration to control the spread of COVID-19 in the Union Territory.
In her Republic Day address, Ms. Soundararajan said a sum of ₹15.57 crore had been allocated through the Puducherry Disaster Response Fund and it had been utilised for various activities. A sum of ₹7.65 crore had been paid as compensation to families that had lost their kith and kin in the pandemic.

Schools across Karnataka have resumed for the 2025-26 academic year. In the current Covid-19 pandemic situation, it is necessary to take some precautionary measures in the interest of students. If children with symptoms come to school, the parents should be informed and such children should be sent home safely with their parents, states circular issued by Commissioner of Public Instruction.

The 2.1 km flyover was a part of four-lane project of Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway 75 between B. C. Road and Adda Hole. According to Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta, 85.63% of the work between B.C. Road and Periyashanthi (41.52 km out of 48.48 km) was complete while 95.17% work (14.4 km out of 15.13 km) on the Periyashanthi-Adda Hole stretch was complete.
