PSEB 12th Result 2022: Girls outshine boys, bag top 3 spots in Humanities

This year, girls have outshone boys in the PSEB 12th result 2022 in terms of pass percentage while also bagging the top 3 spots.
The Punjab School Education Board on Tuesday declared the results for Class 12 Punjab Board Exams. Girls outshone boys as they have bagged all the top 10 spots. Girls have continued to perform better in class 12th Punjab Board results. A total of 1,37,161 girls appeared in the exams, out of which 1,34,182, managed to pass, while 1,64,529 boys appeared for the exam, out of which 1,49,329 boys passed the exams. The pass percentage of girls stood at 97.78%,while the pass percentage of boys is 96.27 percent.
Three girls have scored equal marks to secure the top three positions in the humanity stream.
Arshdeep Kaur, Teja Singh Swatantra Memorial School, Ludhiana topped, while Arshpreet Kaur, Govt Sr Sec School, Mansa secured second position and Kulwinder Kaur, Jaito Faridkot, bagged the third position. All the three toppers scored 497 marks out of 500 with 99.40 percent.
The board recorded an overall pass percentage of 96.96%. In the commerce stream, 30,431 candidates have appeared out of which 29,807 passed the exams. In the Humanities stream 2,17,185 candidates have appeared and 2,09,972 have passed, while in the Science stream 45,588 candidates have appeared and 41,664 have passed the exams.
This year, in the Science (Medical) stream, the pass percentage is 97.52 percent, while for the Non-Medical stream, the pass percentage is 98.02 percent, and for the Commerce stream, the pass percentage is 97.75%, while for the Humanities stream, the pass percentage is 96.68 percent.
If compared to the year 2020, the pass percentage of boys was 90.99 percent, which increased to 94.83 percent.
This year, 9 out of 10 transgender students passed the exams, resulting in a 90% pass percentage.
