PS5 restock in India: Next pre-order date, price, and stores to buy from
India Today
The PS5 gaming console comes in two models, Digital Edition and Blu-ray version, at Rs 39,990 and Rs 49,990, respectively. Both the variants will be available for purchase from stores including Amazon, Flipkart, and more.
If you still haven’t managed to grab a unit of the PS5 for yourself, Sony is giving you another chance. The next pre-order date for the Playstation 5 is set for March 24. The pre-orders will begin at 12PM IST. The delivery timeline hasn’t been officially revealed yet but, as per industry insider Rishi Alwani, deliveries should begin from April 8.
Even though it has been a year since the official launch, it is still hard for gaming enthusiasts to grab the latest gaming console from Sony. The primary reasons for the limited stock are said to be supply chain constraints and global chip shortages.
To recall, PlayStation 5 was up for pre-orders for the first time in India back in January. Back then, the gaming console was sold out within minutes. The situation continued to be the same for all pre-orders that Sony hosted in the country so far, the reason being supply constraints. A similar situation is likely to occur during the upcoming pre-orders as well.
Last year, Sony warned a group of analysts that the PS5 would remain in short supply till 2022, so we can expect the PS5's limited availability at least till the latter half of the year. Announcing the financial results a few months back, the company revealed that it sold 7.8 million units of the PS5 till March 31, 2022.
The PS5 gaming console comes in two models -- Digital Edition and Blu-ray version at Rs 39,990 and Rs 49,990, respectively. Both the variants will be available for purchase from stores including Amazon, Flipkart, ShopatSC, Reliance Digital, PrepaidGamerCard, Vijay Sales, GamesTheShop, and among a few others on March 24.
Interested buyers should be quick at booking a unit since there are chances that the pre-order may get canceled considering limited units in stock due to supply chain issues. Several buyers during the past pre-orders faced similar issues.
Sony introduced the PS5 last year in two variants, one with the Blu-Ray disc and another model is called Disc-less digital-only edition. In terms of specific features, the Blu-Ray edition comes packed with a 4K UHD drive, USB HDD support, 2.1HDMI port, and NVMe SSD slot, which helps expand the capacity by up to 1TB.
